About Risk Services

Mission

The Department of Risk Services supports the mission of the University of New Mexico by evaluating risk exposures and developing effective loss prevention measures. We handle the placement and renewal of the university's insurance policies, process claims made against those policies and the university, and seek to minimize exposure to liability through risk transfer, loss prevention, and business continuity planning.

Vision

The University of New Mexico, Risk Services Department will act to guide the protection of the University’s assets and reputation through engaging our knowledge and resources for the benefit of faculty, staff, and students. We will meet this goal by providing responsive and relevant risk intelligence, while holding ourselves accountable to high ethical and professional standards.
